We continue the Ramirez Group Daily Snippet with a focus on health care insurance in Nevada. According to a report issued to the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, there are 224,340 young adults between the age of 18-34, making up 40% of Nevada’s total uninsured. That means that those under the age of 35 make up 60% of the total population without health insurance.
The median age of Nevada’s civilian population is 35.5 years of age, compared to the median age of 29.8 for Nevadans that are uninsured. Those between the ages of 35 and 44 have slightly higher rates of uninsured than their share of the overall population; and residents age 65+ are the least likely to be uninsured.
