It’s National Chicken Month again. Admittedly, this is the first I’ve ever heard of this “celebration” of chicken. Turns out chicken is something to be celebrated. Daily Snippet:

That according to CIWF. This makes the chicken the most populous bird in the world.
In the United States, it is estimated that 9 billion chickens, along with half a billion turkeys are slaughtered for human consumption annually. That constitutes 95% of the land animals killed for food in the country. That’s a lot of chickens.
