How Many Hispanics in the United States? (Infographic)

LULAC (The League of United Latin American Citizens) opens its national convention in Las Vegas today. Our Daily Snippet goes out in their honor. Hispanics (or Latinos) make up 50.5 million or 16.3% of the U.S. population (see infographic).

That’s one in every 6 people, and one in four children. The Hispanic population has grown by 56% between 2000-2010. They make up $1 trillion in buying power. Hispanics of Mexican decent make up 65.5% of the total Hispanic population.
