Immigration Reform Inaction Costing $37 Million a Day

The United States Senate passed S. 744, a comprehensive immigration reform (CIR) bill on June 27th, 2013. It has yet to have a vote in the House of Representatives. What’s the economic impact of this CIR bill?

Not passing Senate bill 744 is costing the nation $37 million in revenue daily.

That according to estimates by the Center for American Progress (CAP)using data from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The CBO estimated that CIR would reduce the deficit by $135 billion in the first 10 years, along with creating millions of jobs and adding a needed boost to the economy.
