Maggie Salas Crespo began working with Ramirez Group in Las Vegas in summer 2013, but transferred to Northern Nevada upon her acceptance to the University of Nevada, Reno. During her short period in Las Vegas, she worked on various partnership projects in the community. She is now an Associate performing community outreach for the company.
Born in Tepic Nayarit Mexico, Maggie immigrated to the United States at just 10 years old. She is the first in her family to have graduated from high school, and in December of 2013 she graduated from the College of Southern Nevada with two Associate degrees. Maggie is now working towards her Bachelors in Anthropology and Women’s Studies (with a minor in Ethnic Studies) at UNR and plans to attend graduate school after graduation.
Prior to joining Ramirez Group, Maggie worked for a local Las Vegas restaurant as an event coordinator. She also volunteers regularly with Mi Familia Vota, a non-profit, non-partisan, civic engagement organization. She has assisted in coordinating various workshops and forums such as Ya Es Hora Citizen workshops, Driver Authorization Card workshops, Know Your Rights community meetings, Immigration forums and DACA workshops.
In her spare time, Maggie hangs out with her passionate group of friends from the Latino Student Advisory Board, who like to engage in conversations ranging from social justice to popular culture. She enjoys photography and traveling; in fact, Maggie hopes to one day travel the world, taking photos and enjoying each country’s cuisine.
