Today’s Ramirez Group Daily Snippet: The North Pole is a lake (see photo below).
That’s right… a lake. Not ocean water, fresh water from melted ice on top of a small sheet of ice. July is typically one of the warmest months of the year for the North Pole, but the temperatures have been warmer than usual and snow levels have been low this year.
Ice cover has been reduced by significant portions in the polar ice caps for the past decade, alarming many scientists. After this story, some may wonder just what Santa Clause is going to do next. The world is watching.
